Eye Specialists and Surgeons of Northern Virginia

Dr. Josephson is proud to be the first surgeon in the Northern Virginia area to offer DMEK endothelial transplantation.  Partial corneal transplantation, namely DSAEK, has been around for some time but advances have made it possible now to transplant the thinnest layer of the cornea allowing for faster recovery, quicker healing time, and negligible chance for rejection.  Though this surgery is more technically difficult visual results are better then the predecessor DSAEK surgery.  Dr. Josephson has undergone additional training and has already successfully performed hundreds of corneal procedures.

If you have been diagnosed with corneal swelling, FUCHS dystrophy, or are experiencing trouble with glare/haloes, DMEK surgery may be your best chance at visual recovery.
