Kristen E. Dunbar, M.D. is a reconstructive and cosmetic oculofacial surgeon and board-certified ophthalmologist. Her areas of expertise include aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of eyelids (ptosis, blepharoplasty, ectropion, entropion), management of the tear drainage system, periocular lesions, eyelid reconstruction after skin cancer removal, and facial rejuvenation.
Dr. Dunbar completed a two-year surgical fellowship, accredited by the prestigious American Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). During this training, Dr. Dunbar gained a breadth of surgical and clinical experience treating patients at Columbia University Medical Center, Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York University Langone Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital, Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital, as well as Park Avenue plastic surgery practices. After completing the fellowship, she joined Omni Eye Services as an oculoplastic surgery attending and remained on staff at the New York University Langone and Bellevue Hospital centers where she continued to teach residents and fellows.
Dr. Dunbar graduated from the University of Virginia where she received a Bachelor of Science. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Emory University Medical School in Atlanta, Georgia and completed her residency at Tufts Medical Center/New England Eye Center where she served as chief resident. Dr. Dunbar has published numerous research papers, book chapters, and lectured at ophthalmology conferences across the country. In addition to her practice, she is an avid tennis player, earning a NCAA Division I scholarship. She enjoys hiking and spending time with her husband, two young daughters, and newborn son.
