Blepharoplasty
Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty
With time, the skin on the upper lids can sag leading to a consistantly tired or grumpy appearance. You may also get a lump in the inner corners of the eyelid due to normal fat around your eye moving forward. In severe cases, the excess skin can even block your peripheral vision, reducing the upper and outer parts of your visual field. This condition is called dermatochalasis and it is treated with a procedure called ‘blepharoplasty’. With an upper eyelid blepharoplasty, Dr. Dunbar restore your normal range of vision while also making you look more youthful and alert.
Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty
Similar to the upper lids, our lower eyelids can begin to sag as well. The skin can stretch and fat can prolapse forward, causing bags to form under the eyes which gives a tired appearance. This can be corrected with a lower eyelid blepharoplasty. A lower lid blepharoplasty can be done at the same time as an upper lid blepharoplasty.
Dr. Dunbar uses a combination of surgical techniques for lower blepharoplasty to address the individual needs of each patient. Dr. Dunbar will explain all surgical procedures and what you can expect your result to be.
